WOD is going to Japan!
We've been waiting to make it official...and now it is! Wings of Defeat will be screening theatrically in Japan this summer! Cine Qua Non, famous for distributing films like Shiri, JSA, and the recent hit Hula Girls, has picked up our film for its theaters in Japan and Korea. We'll be going over in June for press and promotion with an expected July release. We'll start off in Tokyo and then move from there...please tell your friends in Japan to come watch a film that they have undoubtedly never seen. We've received enormous amount of support so far - thank you for helping to share the stories of these men who endured the ultimate hardship and lived to tell us about it.

Why is it there's a similar movie produced by Japanese named 'For those We Love' being released around the exact same time??
Was there any collaboration between the makers or did someone steal another's idea?

These are two completely different movies that were made around the same time. "For Those We Love" is a fictional story loosely based on true events; "Wings of Defeat" is a documentary.
The points of view of the films are very different. This has become a popular topic of discussion as of late especially with the recent 60th anniversary of the ending of the war.
